The Tools and Parts Attendant does the following keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment; visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors; may coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and may attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool. Essential Functions- Performs and maintains the Test, Measuring, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) program, to include locations at the offsite. Must be able to identify the requirements for TMDE. Maintain an accurate TMDE program to ensure TMDE readiness is with in Army guidance. Maintains files in accordance with the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS).
- Formulates projection list and schedules delivery of TMDE for periodic calibration. Informs all sections of deficiencies within the TMDE program. Maintains up-to-date Army Regulations (AR), Technical Bulletins (TB), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Maintains a monthly production report pertaining to TMDE. Acts as liaison between TMDE Support Center (TSC) and the customer.
- Maintain a listing of Government Furnished Property/Equipment under warranty. Establish internal procedures to identify new equipment under warranty issued as GFP to the activities within the area of support.
- Determine if specific failure or maintenance defect of items of equipment qualify as a warranty claim. Coordinate warranty claim repair actions with the warrantor. Ensure that components are not removed from an item if the end item or component is under warranty. Distribute copies of completed Maintenance Request/work orders in accordance applicable publications and current warranty agreements.
- Provide the necessary documentation for reimbursement when warranty repair is performed using Government assets. Provide a listing of warranty items upon request and submit a warranty listing of equipment that no longer is under warranty because of expiration dates.
- Works with the customer on the Modification Work Order Fielding Plan (MWOFP) with the sponsoring agency and installation subordinate commands. Orders the required MWO kits and ensure adequate storage for the items until installed. Coordinate suitable workspace for the application of the MWO and initiate a Maintenance Request.
- Schedule date and time a unit/activity is to evacuate equipment to the work site for application of the MWO. Monitor the MWO application and ensure that the work teams complete the MWO within the time compliance period.
- Receives, inspects, inventories, load, unloads, segregates store, issues, delivers and turns-in Organization/Direct Support and Installation equipment.
- Receives a wide variety of supplies and specialized items requiring special handling; received items are properly stored in assigned locations; reviews requisitions for completeness and compliance with regulations, and revises quantities ordered based on number on hand. Recommends substitution when supply items are not available.
- Responsible for making and receiving parts orders on a daily basis, also pickup and delivery of parts from local venders.
- Assist in unloading supplies, organizing space in warehouse for parts, and maintain a tracking system for accountability of supplies and parts received and issued.
- Perform maintenance as required in accordance with the standards and maintain appropriate required paperwork files (Job Packets) necessary for the maintenance and repair of the equipment.
- Ensure all deficiencies and parts are annotated properly on all forms as required by applicable policies and procedures.
- Provides preventative maintenance for all equipment associated with the performance of maintenance where applicable. Maintain shop housekeeping and physical image of shop.
- Perform other duties as required to support the mission and contractual requirements. Minimum Requirements
- Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling loads up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.
- Ensure that all tasks performed safely and meet policy standards when applicable.
- Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g., gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.
- Employee is required to maintain a valid state-issued Driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a National Security Background check. General Requirements
