Job Description

Job Summary Baum's Service Center is seeking a Licensed Virginia State Safety Inspector to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, motivated individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing Virginia State Safety Inspections, diagnosing and completing light-duty mechanical repairs, and helping ensure every customer leaves with a safe and reliable vehicle. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). What We're Looking For Current Virginia State Safety Inspector License (Required) Minimum 1 year of automotive repair experience preferred Ability to perform light-duty mechanical repairs Must provide your own tools necessary for assigned duties Positive attitude and strong work ethic Team player who works well with others Excellent customer service and communication skills Efficient, organized, and detail-oriented Dependable and punctual Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred Responsibilities Perform Virginia State Safety Inspections in accordance with Virginia regulations Diagnose and complete light-duty mechanical repairs, including brakes, steering, suspension, batteries, and basic engine repairs Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filters, tire rotations, and inspections Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively Clearly document inspection results and repair recommendations Communicate vehicle concerns and repair needs with customers in a professional manner Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company policies and safety procedures Work efficiently to meet shop productivity goals while maintaining quality workmanship Qualifications Active Virginia State Safety Inspector License Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures Experience using diagnostic equipment and automotive repair tools Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Commitment to honesty, integrity, and quality workmanship Benefits Full-time, 40 hours per week Competitive pay based on experience Friendly, team-oriented work environment Opportunities for continued growth and development If you're a motivated Virginia State Inspector who takes pride in quality work and excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
