You will utilize your diagnostic expertise to perform complex repairs on diesel-powered systems and material handling equipment, directly impacting our ability to meet service commitments. Responsibilities Execute advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostics to identify and resolve performance issues in heavy-duty vehicles and trailers. Perform comprehensive repairs on drive train components, braking systems, and hydraulic equipment to ensure peak performance. Manage parts inventory accuracy and coordinate with management to resolve discrepancies, ensuring seamless workflow. Utilize maintenance software to document service history, maintain DOT compliance, and track repair orders. Maintain a high standard of shop safety and organization while mentoring junior technicians to foster team growth. Operate and test drive heavy-duty equipment, including Class 8 tractors, to verify repair quality. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches. Strong understanding of tire systems and mechanical repair procedures. Ability to interpret technical manuals and follow precise safety protocols. Preferred Skills Technical school diploma or 2 years of post-secondary education in diesel technology. ASE Certifications or DOT Brake and Annual Inspection certifications. Valid Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within 90 days. Experience with refrigerant recovery and recycling systems. Proven track record in heavy-duty truck maintenance environments.
