Job Description

Are you a skilled Journeyman Generator Technician with experience in power generation, looking for a hands-on role where you can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain generator systems while advancing your career with a respected industry leader? We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team. This role involves routine maintenance, testing, rental generator setup, fuel services, and remote monitoring installations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently. Key Responsibilities ▪ Diagnose and repair alternating electrical systems on diesel, LP gas, and natural gas generator sets, including electrical services, automatic transfer switches, and accessories. ▪ Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and testing, including fluid and filter changes. ▪ Set up, disconnect, and return TPC rental generators. ▪ Conduct resistive load bank testing on generators and transfer switches. ▪ Perform diesel fuel maintenance testing and polishing services. ▪ Install, troubleshoot, and repair wireless remote monitoring systems for generators and transfer switches. ▪ Work beyond standard business hours when needed for critical projects. ▪ Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, invoices, warranties, timesheets, equipment details, parts lists, and load bank reports. ▪ Keep the assigned service vehicle in top condition and maintain proper stock of service parts. ▪ Ensure all tools and technology are functional, reporting any issues to the Service Operations Administrator. ▪ Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation. ▪ Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills ▪
Experience:
At least five years in power generation, engine repair, or controls. ▪
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. ▪
Technical Skills:
Computer literacy and strong problem-solving abilities. Additional Requirements ▪ Valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record (as defined by our insurer). ▪ Must pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug test. ▪ Ability to perform physical tasks typical of construction work, including kneeling, climbing, bending, crawling, lifting 50+ lbs., and working overhead. ▪ Must tolerate various weather conditions and uneven surfaces. ▪ Functional vision, hearing, and clear verbal communication skills for in-person and phone communication.
