Job Description

509 Roadside is seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Mobile Mechanic / Fleet Mechanic to join our growing team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light- medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, equipment, and fleet vehicles in the field and at customer locations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, safety-focused, and capable of delivering high-quality repairs with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair engine, fuel, cooling, electrical, hydraulic, air brake, suspension, steering, and driveline systems. Respond to roadside service calls and perform emergency repairs in the field. Complete inspections and preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer and DOT specifications. Utilize diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot vehicle issues. Repair and replace components including brakes, wheel seals, bearings, alternators, starters, air systems, and hydraulic systems. Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and inspection reports. Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and equipment status. Follow all safety procedures, DOT regulations, and company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service vehicle and work environment. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience working on medium-duty and heavy-duty diesel trucks. Strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulic systems. Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently. Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL preferred but not required. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call roadside service rotations. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
