ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic provides oversight of maintenance/repair of all ground support airport equipment. Involves the inspection, repair, and modification of the entire fleet of ground and special equipment. Manages team on overhaul of components so work is performed according to manufacturer specifications. Experience in heavy duty equipment operation. Diagnostics, maintenance and repair of vehicles and buildings as assigned. Manages preventative maintenance of hangars, hangar doors, and terminal buildings as assigned. Provides department assistance for facility repairs, including landscape maintenance. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and the ability to work safely and take precautions for safe operation of motor driven equipment; including operation over rough, slippery, or unstable surfaces. Bring unsafe or unhealthy, or adverse environmental conditions to management for resolution using the Safety Management Systems Manual hazard reporting program. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Must have High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Minimum 4 years working mechanical experience in vehicle and building repair Working knowledge and skills in hydraulic service, electrical repair, generator repair, diesel repair and diagnostics Ability to work unrestricted in the United States as a citizen or permanent resident Must possess a valid Class D Wisconsin Driver License. (out-of-state license must be converted timely) Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secure Identification Display Area) badge through the TSA (Transportation Security Administration)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Be able to rotate shift time and to and work some weekends. Outside work with exposure to weather conditions. Regularly lifts up to 50 lbs, moves and carries equipment. Constantly lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds with use of hand truck/towing equipment. Typically pulls, pushes, bends, stoops and crouches; constantly moves about to coordinate work.
