Job Description

Job Summary A Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks, trailers, pickup trucks and tractors. A Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks including preventative maintenance, engine repair, welding, and all other aspects of repair and maintenance for our fleet and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and locate mechanical problems on trucks, farm tractors, trailers, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Work with Site manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Assess building systems to plan work assignments.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed in safe, effective, and timely manner.
  • Assist team members with technical issues or advanced problems as needed.
  • Track and logs workers time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Work with maintenance supervisor to coordinate topics for safety meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, two-year associate degree in Diesel Mechanic/Technician program or Five years' experience showing principals/practices of maintenance operations normally obtained through formal training and education.
Knowledge of the tools, equipment and procedures used in the maintenance and repair of diesel trucks. Knowledge of safety practices related to mechanical repairs. Ability to maintain record keeping practices related to mechanical repairs. Ability to inspect and perform minor and major repairs on diesel equipment including a variety of power-driver equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical automotive and equipment manuals which are printed in English. The ability to use a variety of equipment including hydraulic presses, and pneumatic tools. Must have your own tools and toolbox. Valid driver's license. Commitment to company values. Physical and Mental Demands Ability to stand, walk, sit, squat, lay on the ground, crouch, climb stairs and use hands for extended periods of time. Ability to lift from the floor to overhead up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75lbs infrequently. Exposure to unpleasant odors, grease, dirt, grime, wet floors, and noise for extended periods of time. Hours Monday through Thursday 2pm-12am. Overtime as needed.
