Responsibilities Safely operate a range of heavy-duty trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, to transport equipment and freight. Load and unload heavy machinery and freight using appropriate tools like forklifts or manual techniques while adhering to safety protocols. Plan efficient routes for delivery or pickup, ensuring timely arrivals while complying with all traffic laws and safety regulations. Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit; perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, inspection reports, and route documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedule updates, route changes, or issues encountered on the road. Assist with routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal operation. Experience Prior experience driving commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers or flatbed trucks is essential; delivery driver experience is highly valued. Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Familiarity with specialized trailers including refrigerated trailers for temperature-sensitive freight or tankers for liquid transport. Experience loading/unloading freight using forklifts or other equipment; knowledge of load securing techniques is preferred. Proven track record of route driving with an emphasis on safety, punctuality, and customer service in a fast-paced environment. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the types of vehicles operated (e.g., tanker endorsement). Additional certifications such as forklift operation or dump truck/roll-off truck licenses are advantageous but not mandatory.
