Position Overview of Heavy Equipment & Engine Mechanic (Field / Shop): We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Heavy Equipment & Engine Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and rebuild complex components and engines for major brands like Cat®, Cummins®, Detroit Diesel®, International®, John Deere®, JLG®, Terex®, and Volvo®. If you have a passion for diesel engines, advanced diagnostics, and heavy machinery, we want to hear from you. Core Responsibilities of Heavy Equipment & Engine Mechanic (Field / Shop)
Heavy Equipment Repair:
Perform comprehensive mechanical machine repair, troubleshooting, and scheduled maintenance on a diverse fleet of heavy machinery.
Engine & Component Rebuilding:
Disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and reassemble large diesel engines and critical sub-assemblies back to OEM specifications.
Turbocharger & Exhaust Systems:
Execute specialized turbocharger repairs and work with coated exhaust components.
Deutz Component Care:
Utilize targeted technical skills to handle Deutz engine parts and specialized repairs.
Field & Sector Support:
Provide high-quality service solutions tailored to oil & gas field operations and mining equipment environments.
Safety First:
Read schematics, utilize hand/power tools safely, and adhere strictly to all company safety standards and
OSHA/MSHA
guidelines. Qualifications & Skills of Heavy Equipment & Engine Mechanic (Field / Shop):
Experience:
3+ years of proven experience in heavy equipment mechanical repair or diesel engine rebuilding (experience with Cat, Cummins, Detroit, or Deutz is highly preferred).
Technical Mastery:
Deep understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy industrial machinery.
Tools & Equipment:
Proficient with professional diagnostic software, precision measuring tools, and shop equipment.
Work Ethic:
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to read complex technical manuals, and a drug-free commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Ability:
Capability to lift heavy parts, work in physically demanding environments (shop and field), and handle the rugged nature of mining and oilfield equipment.
