Job Description

Covina Appliance is a family-owned business proudly serving the San Gabriel Valley. Our factory-trained technicians provide expert repair service for washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, and cooktops from leading brands including Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Speed Queen and more.
Appliance Repair Job Description:
1.
BE A TEAM PLAYER
Be courteous and respectful to other team members and work together to ensure that company goals are met. Discuss any with the Operations Manager, who has the responsibility of supervising the office staff. Discuss any with the President. Be courteous to staff and customers alike. Communicate concerns to the Operations Manager or President privately so that morale is not affected negatively. 2.
ANSWER INCOMING PHONE CALLS
The first duty of is to answer the phones. While in the office, assist in answering phones by the third ring to provide prompt customer service. Redirect calls as needed regarding parts research or scheduling appointments. 3.
PERFORM REPAIRS IN CUSTOMERS' HOMES AND BUSINESSES
Ensure that all parts needed for assigned calls (especially for Go Backs) are on your vehicle prior to leaving for the day. Check to be certain that you have a portable credit card terminal with you, along with tools, clipboard, Daily Route Sheet and all service tickets for the day. Travel by company vehicle to job sites to diagnose and repair appliances, following all company policies and procedures, including all safety precautions. Deliver high-quality, honest, friendly, professional service to all customers. 4.
CALL PARTS DESK IF RESEARCH IS NEEDED
Provide staff member with customer name, model number, and part description. Advise customer of estimate, and availability of part. Confirm with Parts Desk if part is to be ordered so that the item can be ordered promptly. 5.
DOCUMENT SERVICE TICKETS TO RECORD WORK PERFORMED
Clearly state diagnosis, estimate, time in, and time out of job. Describe work performed clearly and concisely, including parts installed (quantity, part number, price), labor charges, and payment received. Be sure to water-test all appliances that are connected to water. Leave pink copy of ticket with customer. 6.
RECORD SALES SUMMARY ON DAILY ROUTE SHEET
List jobs by customer name, ticket number, odometer reading, and sales amounts (material, tax, labor, deposit), and job status (complete, lack part, call back, etc.). Enter total sales running balance as each call is completed. 7.
CALL OFFICE AT THE CONCLUSION OF EACH JOB
status at the end of each job (Complete, Lack Part, Not Home, etc.), and verify with office which customer is next in sequence to be serviced, as routes may change during the day as incoming service calls are received. 8.
OBSERVE ALL LAWS AND COMPANY POLICIES
Ensure that all State laws and regulations are observed regarding repairs in the customers' homes. Follow company procedures faithfully. Properly document service call charge, estimate, model and serial numbers, etc., and obtain customer signatures as indicated on the Service Ticket. Deliver high-quality, honest, friendly, professional service to all customers. 9.
MAINTAIN TRUCK INVENTORY
Ensure that truck is properly stocked to ensure maximum number of completed calls each day. Restock parts received from the Parts Desk in their proper location to ensure ease of locating the part when next needed. Keep van clean and organized. Participate in truck inventories as scheduled by the Parts Desk staff or the Operations Manager. Report discrepancies to the President. 10.
PRE-SCREEN SERVICE CALLS
Review upcoming service requests to intercept calls that require parts to be ordered prior to the first visit. 11.
CHECK IN SPECIAL ORDERS
Review service tickets and parts received to ensure part is correct before the Go Back is scheduled. Advise Parts Desk of any concerns or problems. 12.
PERFORM MISCELLANEOUS AS REQUESTED
Assist with any other work-related duties.
