We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Appliance Service/Repair Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing top-tier commercial foodservice equipment repair and maintenance solutions. As an Appliance Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance, warranty repairs, and general service repairs on commercial cooking, ware washing, and other kitchen equipment in restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, schools, and corporate cafeterias. As a representative of IEC Services, you will uphold our high standards of customer service while helping drive operational excellence and company growth. Job Summary The Appliance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial foodservice equipment. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service in the field. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial foodservice equipment including ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, dishwashers, and other kitchen equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance services to ensure equipment efficiency, and longevity.
- Complete warranty and non-warranty repairs in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve equipment issues.
- Communicate effectively with customers, management, dispatch, and support staff.
- Document all work performed, including service reports, work orders, and equipment recommendations using company software.
- Strive to minimize service callbacks through quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Attend manufacturer, technical, and safety training programs as required.
- Participate in an emergency on-call rotation, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Adhere to all company safety policies and industry regulations. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in gas and electrical systems.
- Previous experience servicing commercial cooking equipment preferred.
- Relevant licenses, and certifications such as EPA Universal 608 and CFESA
- Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for electronic documentation and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work in commercial kitchen environments. Benefits
