Appliance Repair Technician - Independent Contractor Tampa Bay Service Network, LLC Plant City, FL Job Details Contract $30 - $50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Service writing Customer communication Technical documentation Mechanical troubleshooting Mobile devices Full Job Description Tampa Appliance Pros (TAP) is expanding its Tampa Bay service network and is seeking qualified Appliance Repair Technicians to work as independent contractors (1099) . TAP connects qualified technicians with local appliance-service opportunities. When an eligible job becomes available, technicians can review the assignment and accept or decline it based on availability, service area, and qualifications . This opportunity is ideal for experienced appliance technicians, independent repair professionals, or skilled technicians looking to add service calls to their existing workload. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair residential refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, and other appliances within your qualifications. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate diagnostic equipment, schematics, technical documentation, and manufacturer procedures. Review available TAP service opportunities and accept assignments that fit your availability and service area. Communicate professionally with customers regarding diagnoses, repair recommendations, parts requirements, and job status. Accurately document diagnoses, estimates, parts needed, repairs performed, and job completion through the TAP service platform. Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, professionalism, and customer service. Travel independently to customer locations throughout your selected Tampa Bay service area. Preferred Qualifications Previous appliance repair, installation, maintenance, HVAC/refrigeration, electrical, or related field-service experience. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Reliable transportation and smartphone with internet access. Appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment for the services you perform. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and manage accepted assignments responsibly. Manufacturer certifications, appliance-service credentials, and EPA 608 certification are valued where applicable. Flexible Contractor Opportunity This is an independent contractor opportunity rather than a traditional hourly employee position . Qualified technicians choose which available assignments they accept. There is no requirement to accept every service opportunity offered. Compensation and job details are provided according to the applicable service opportunity. Actual earnings depend on job type, accepted assignments, experience, availability, and completed work. TAP Academy & Onboarding Selected technicians complete TAP onboarding before receiving service opportunities. Onboarding includes customer-service expectations, job documentation, safety standards, use of the TAP technician/dispatch system, and applicable insurance and contractor requirements.
