We have been proudly serving residential and commercial customers across New England for generations. Known for our reliability, technical expertise, and commitment to customer satisfaction, we are a company where skilled technicians are valued, respected, and given the tools they need to succeed. We are expanding our residential appliance service team and looking for a motivated, skilled technician to join us full-time. If you take pride in your work, enjoy problem-solving, and want to work for a company that actually takes care of its people — we want to hear from you.
THE ROLE
As a Residential Appliance Repair Technician, you will diagnose and repair a wide range of household appliances for customers throughout the Greater Boston area. You will work independently in the field, managing your own service calls while representing Fix It Guy with professionalism and care. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who is technically sharp, self-motivated, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Diagnose and repair residential appliances including washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, and microwaves
  • Perform service calls at customer homes throughout Greater Boston and surrounding communities
  • Order and install replacement parts accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with customers — explain the problem, the fix, and what to expect
  • Complete service reports and job documentation accurately after each call
  • Manage your daily schedule and route independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and professional appearance at all times
  • Build customer trust through honest, high-quality work — callbacks and repeat customers are a sign of a job well done
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on appliance repair experience — residential required, commercial a plus
  • Ability to diagnose and repair major appliances across multiple brands (Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Bosch, and others)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills — you can figure out what's wrong without being told
  • Professional, courteous manner with customers — you represent our brand in their home
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time in the field
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in tight spaces
  • Basic smartphone proficiency for scheduling, navigation, and job reporting
  • EPA 608 certification a plus but not required
NICE TO HAVE
(BUT
NOT REQUIRED
)
  • Experience with commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers) — we will train the right candidate
  • Manufacturer certifications (Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, etc.)
  • Prior experience running your own service route independently
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish or Portuguese a plus in the Boston market)
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
  • Competitive hourly wage based on your experience — we pay fairly and we pay on time
  • Company vehicle provided — no wear and tear on your personal car
  • Parts inventory support — you show up, we equip you
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Stable, year-round work — no slow seasons, no layoffs
  • A small, tight-knit team where your work is recognized and valued
  • Family-oriented company culture — you're not a number here
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You'll be joining a small, experienced team that has been together for years. We don't have a revolving door — our technicians stay because we treat them well. You'll have direct access to management, clear communication about your schedule and expectations, and the support you need to do your job without unnecessary friction. We are a company that has been built on doing the right thing — with customers and with our own people.
