Position Summary:
To maintain the heating systems, water drainage system of corporate facilities, boilers, domestic water systems, fire protection systems, and sewage lift systems. Will also relief shift work in the operation and/or monitoring of all the above described.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Journeyman level, plumbing and/or mechanical skills, trade school preferred. Six (6) years boiler experience, five (5) years general plumbing, at least one (1) year experience in radiant heat, furnaces and toyostoves. Knowledge of computer operations as they apply Certificates in heat and plumbing related areas Alaska Drivers License Skill in using a variety of shop tools in order to repair and/or fabricate equipment to perform the described duties Ability to deal with and/or confront people appropriately Prefer demonstrated ability in reading and understanding Mechanical plans Good knowledge of PC computer including ability to use word processing and e-mail programs Experience installing commercial mechanical systems Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
