Job Description
This is skilled mechanical work in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems in City of Montgomery facilities. Employees in this class are responsible for laying out work details, assigning duties and inspecting the work of HVAC Mechanic Is. In addition to supervising, the incumbent performs mechanical tasks. Assignments are made by written or oral instructions. Daily supervision is received from the Mechanical Trades Supervisor. On large projects, supervision may be received on the job site by a HVAC Mechanic III. High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems. Must have possession of an EPA 608 Type I and II certification.
