Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs climate control systems across campus facilities. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.Core Responsibilities System Maintenance & Repair:
Perform routine preventative maintenance on campus HVAC/R equipment, including motors, bearings, coils, and filters.Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in heating, air conditioning, and ventilation units to ensure optimal building temperatures.Building Automation:
Monitor and program Energy Management Systems (EMS) and computerized building controls to regulate temperatures remotely and maximize energy efficiency.Installations & Upgrades:
Plan, lay out, and install new HVAC ductwork, heating units, and cooling systems during campus expansions or renovations.Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all work adheres to EPA standards, proper handling of refrigerants, and university safety policies.Emergency Response:
Provide on-call, after-hours support for critical HVAC emergencies in dormitories, classrooms, and campus buildings.
