In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on residential HVAC systems including air conditioning, heating units, boilers, refrigeration, and building automation systems. Troubleshoot electrical systems using tools like ohmmeters and schematics to identify issues accurately. Repair or replace HVAC components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, electrical wiring, and mechanical parts to restore system functionality. Install new HVAC equipment following manufacturer specifications and HVAC design plans to ensure proper operation. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan. Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary, including refrigerant recharges and pipe repairs. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout every interaction. Requirements Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in construction with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and maintenance. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration processes, and building automation systems. Ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment efficiently. Familiarity with plumbing components related to HVAC systems and experience with ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver preferred for on-site visits. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in property maintenance environments involving HVAC system installation and ongoing system maintenance.
