The Opportunity:
You will serve as a lead technical expert, driving the successful operation, diagnostic troubleshooting, and repair of complex commercial HVAC systems. This high-impact commercial/industrial mechanical position involving chillers, boilers, hydronics, controls, and troubleshooting. This role allows you to solve challenging mechanical problems while mentoring junior technicians in a rapidly growing company that genuinely values your contribution. Impact:
Perform advanced diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on commercial chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and hydronic systems. Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, and combustion issues using detailed wiring diagrams and schematics. Service and optimize variable-frequency drives, air-handling equipment, pumps, and integrated control systems to ensure high performance. Serve as the primary onsite technical representative, communicating clearly and professionally with commercial facility managers. Mentor and guide junior technicians in the field to elevate overall team safety, technical proficiency, and execution. Maintain accurate documentation of equipment findings, service reports, and recommended system solutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Advanced expertise in diagnosing and servicing commercial chillers (centrifugal, screw, scroll, reciprocating) and hot-water boilers. Deep proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, hydronic blueprints, and technical equipment manuals. Proven ability to work safely and independently while delivering top-tier mechanical workmanship in the field. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills required for client representation and internal teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
15+ years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC, boiler, and chiller field operations. Completion of a formal HVAC/R technical program or a recognized industry apprenticeship. Demonstrated history of mentorship and technical training of junior technicians in a field environment. Strong team mentality
