  • $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Lifting equipment Spanish Customer communication EPA Interpretation English Driver's License Plumbing Refrigeration Hand tools Technical Proficiency Full Job Description We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician / Mechanic to join our growing Phoenix team.
In this role, you will diagnose, maintain, repair, and install residential and/or light commercial heating and cooling systems. Because the Phoenix desert heat can be intense, our technicians are front-line heroes to our community. As a Bilingual Technician (English/Spanish), you will play a crucial role in expanding our reach, building trust, and delivering exceptional service to our diverse Spanish-speaking clientele across the Valley. While we prefer 1-2 years of field experience, we value competency and a drive to learn above all else. For example, if you are a recent trade school graduate with only 7 months of field experience, but you already know beyond the basics of the trade and have strong troubleshooting logic, we want to hear from you! We are willing to invest in training the right person Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose & Repair:
    Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in various HVAC systems (including split systems, heat pumps, package units, and mini-splits)
  • Maintenance:
    Perform routine preventative maintenance, system tune-ups, and safety checks to ensure optimal efficiency during high-demand summer months
  • Customer Communication:
    Explain technical issues, repair options, and pricing clearly to homeowners or business owners. Utilize bilingual skills to bridge language gaps and ensure absolute transparency with Spanish-speaking customers
  • Documentation & Technology:
    Keep accurate digital records of parts used, work completed, and equipment conditions via our mobile dispatching application
  • Safety & Standards:
    Adhere to all local HVAC codes, safety regulations, and EPA guidelines regarding refrigerant handling
Rotational On-Call:
Participate in a seasonal evening/weekend on-call rotation to handle emergency breakdown requests.
Qualifications & Requirements Required:
Experience & Competency:
1-2 years of hands-on field experience OR a strong technical foundation from an accredited trade school/apprenticeship coupled with an understanding that goes beyond basic textbook knowledge. Must demonstrate strong troubleshooting logic and a desire to grow.
Certifications:
Must hold a valid EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (or be actively working toward it with a technical school background).
Driver's License:
A valid Arizona Driver's License with a clean, insurable driving record.
Physical Ability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in tight spaces (crawls/attics) and high temperatures.
Background Check:
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Tools:
Possession of basic hand tools and diagnostic meters typical of the trade. Preferred (A Plus)•
Bilingual Proficiency:
Fully fluent in English and Spanish (must be able to confidently handle technical diagnostics and customer service in both languages).
Plumbing Knowledge:
Semi-skilled plumbing experience (e.g., handling water heaters, condensate lines, water softeners, or basic leak repairs). Strong sales or communication background for offering preventative maintenance agreements.
