What We Are Looking for We're looking for an experienced Lead Residential HVAC Install Technician to join our team at White Mechanical Inc. You'll be heading up a two-person installation crew, taking ownership of full system installs — furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats — across new construction, replacement, and retrofit projects throughout our service area. This is a hands-on field leadership role where you're the one setting the standard on every job. What You'll Be Doing Lead an installation crew, directing day-to-day job logistics and keeping installs on track Install complete residential HVAC systems from start to finish — furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, ductwork, and thermostats Perform system start-up, testing, and calibration to ensure everything runs right before you leave the job Modify and fabricate ductwork, piping, and electrical connections to fit each unique install Conduct pre-installation site assessments to plan out equipment placement and flag any potential issues Remove and properly dispose of old HVAC equipment per environmental regulations Communicate with homeowners about installation progress, system operation, and maintenance recommendations Assist the service team with troubleshooting and repairs when operational needs call for it Keep company vehicles, tools, and documentation — including warranty registrations and completion reports — in good order What We're Looking For 3+ years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience EPA 608 Universal Certification Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Solid understanding of electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations Prior experience leading or mentoring a crew Preferred (nice to have, not required) NATE certification Experience with smart thermostats and modern HVAC control systems Compensation and Benefits $30-40/hr depending on experience Company vehicle provided Medical, dental & vision — company covers 80% of your medical premium 401(k) with profit sharing Paid time off + sick time Life insurance Paid training and certifications Sign on bonus!
