This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC systems, including refrigeration, mechanical systems, and building automation systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and installing new equipment with precision and professionalism. Duties Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems using hand tools and electrical diagnostics. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) systems effectively. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and conduct electrical system diagnostics to identify faults quickly. Repair or replace defective components in HVAC equipment, including compressors, fans, thermostats, and control panels. Collaborate with building automation specialists to optimize system performance and ensure seamless integration of HVAC controls. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants. Qualifications Proven construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC systems. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately; familiarity with HVAC design principles is a plus. Experience working with plumbing systems related to HVAC setups; knowledge of electrical diagnostics is essential. Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and specialized equipment like ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Valid driver's license (preferably driver or equivalent) with a clean driving record. Certifications such as EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certification for refrigerant handling are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or building automation are advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members alike.
