We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC Installer to join our growing team. Job Summary The Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC Installer is responsible for the installation of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment and related components at customer and project sites. This position works independently and as part of an installation team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes. The Installer will work with equipment such as walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigerated display cases, condensing units, evaporators, HVAC equipment, refrigeration piping, and associated electrical and mechanical components. Responsibilities Install commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, equipment, piping, and related components. Install and set walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, refrigerated display cases, evaporators, condensing units, rooftop/HVAC equipment, and other commercial systems . Measure, cut, fit, and install refrigeration piping and associated components. Perform brazing, soldering, and piping connections using proper techniques and safety procedures. Assist with system pressure testing, evacuation, charging, startup, and commissioning as required. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, installation instructions, and project plans . Properly lay out equipment and piping according to project specifications and site conditions. Coordinate installation activities with project managers, supervisors, technicians, electricians, general contractors, and other trades. Identify installation issues or discrepancies and communicate them to the appropriate supervisor or project manager. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment required to complete installations. Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and assigned materials. Complete required work orders, installation documentation, jobsite records, and other electronic reporting. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, jobsite rules, and applicable industry regulations. Support equipment upgrades, replacements, remodels, retrofits, and new construction projects. Maintain professional communication and conduct while working at customer locations and active construction sites. Assist other installers and technicians as needed to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to IEC Services' quality standards. Skills & Qualifications 3-5+ years of commercial refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical, or related installation experience preferred. Experience installing commercial refrigeration and/or HVAC equipment strongly preferred. Working knowledge of refrigeration piping, brazing, equipment installation, and mechanical systems . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, safety rules, and installation manuals. EPA Section 608 Certification preferred; Universal EPA Certification strongly preferred for positions involving refrigerant handling . Knowledge of proper evacuation, pressure testing, charging, and refrigeration installation procedures is a plus. Ability to use common HVAC/R installation tools, power tools, meters, gauges, and related equipment. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of an installation crew. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer and mobile-device skills for electronic documentation and work orders. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to travel to customer and project sites as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, rooftops, and active construction sites as required by the position.
