Overview Senior HVAC Service TechnicianSandium Heating & AirJoin a Team Where Your Experience Matters Sandium Heating & Air is looking for an experienced, motivated Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. This is more than a service technician position. We are looking for someone who has the technical experience to handle challenging service calls, the professionalism to take care of our customers, and the leadership mindset to help develop the next generation of HVAC technicians . As a Senior Service Technician, you will be one of the experienced technicians our team can rely on. You'll handle complex diagnostics and repairs while also having the opportunity to mentor, coach, and train newer technicians in the field . If you enjoy solving difficult HVAC problems, working with customers, sharing your knowledge, and helping other technicians become better at their trade, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, electrical systems, controls, and refrigeration components. Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigeration issues to identify the true root cause of system problems. Use electrical meters, diagnostic tools, manufacturer information, schematics, and your hands-on experience to accurately diagnose equipment. Perform quality repairs and maintenance while following Sandium's service, safety, and workmanship standards. Explain system issues, repair options, and recommendations clearly and professionally to homeowners. Identify opportunities to improve system performance, comfort, reliability, and efficiency. Complete accurate service documentation and maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, system conditions, and recommendations. Work closely with dispatch, management, installers, and other technicians to provide an exceptional customer experience. Participate in ongoing technical training and manufacturer training to stay current with HVAC technology and best practices. Be a Leader in the Field One of the most important parts of this position is helping develop our newer technicians . As a Senior Technician, you may have opportunities to: Mentor newer technicians on diagnostic and repair techniques. Ride along with less-experienced technicians to provide hands-on coaching. Help technicians develop stronger electrical, refrigeration, and troubleshooting skills. Share real-world knowledge and best practices from your experience in the trade. Help newer technicians understand how to communicate professionally with customers. Lead by example in safety, workmanship, professionalism, and customer service. Work with management to identify training opportunities and areas where technicians can improve. You don't have to be a formal manager to be a leader. We are looking for experienced technicians who want to make an impact beyond their own service calls. What Success Looks Like A successful Senior Service Technician at Sandium is someone who: Can confidently diagnose and repair difficult HVAC problems. Gets the job done correctly rather than simply replacing parts. Builds trust with customers through professionalism and honest communication. Takes pride in clean, quality workmanship. Helps other technicians become better at their jobs. Continues learning and stays current with new HVAC technology. Takes ownership of their work and follows through. Represents Sandium professionally in every customer interaction. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of residential HVAC service experience. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. Solid understanding of electrical systems, refrigeration, airflow, controls, and HVAC equipment. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation. Experience diagnosing and repairing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment. EPA 608 certification required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Professional appearance and attitude. Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other physically demanding environments. Preferred Experience Warranty and factory-authorized service experience. Experience mentoring or training other technicians. Manufacturer-specific HVAC training or certifications. ServiceTitan or other field-service software experience. Experience with advanced electrical diagnostics and system controls. Experience with heat pumps and newer high-efficiency HVAC technology. Why Sandium?
