This energetic position involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting air conditioning systems and related equipment with precision and care. You'll work on a variety of residential projects, ensuring each installation meets high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Properly Install new residential air conditioning units, including ductwork, trim, and related HVAC components, following schematics and design specifications in new or lived in residential homes Conduct system inspections to ensure proper operation and adherence to safety standards Set up and calibrate thermostats, including smart thermostats Safe charging, recovery, and recycling of refrigerants, following EPA and OSHA regulation Follow safety procedures, manufacturer and industry safety protocols to protect yourself and customers Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, and appliances as needed Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to complete installations accurately Use tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical instruments to diagnose issues and repair equipment efficiently Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations Drive company vehicles safely to various job sites while maintaining a clean driving record. Current hard copy MVR must be provided at time of interview to be considered for employment. Qualifications EPA License Provide own tools required to install AC units and complete trims Valid driver's license with a current, clean driving record which must be provided in person at time of interview to be considered for employment Proven experience in construction or field service roles with a focus on HVAC installation or service technician work Tool Safety knowledge and ability to safely use power tools, hand tools and measuring devices (tape, square, drill, saw) OSHA safety knowledge and ability to follow basic OSHA safety regulations Understanding heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including design principals, operation, and component functions Material Knowledge and understanding of materials like metal, plastic, and wood used in HVAC trim Proficientcy at following blueprints & specifications and ability to Read HVAC plans to locate trim placement Installation accuracy and ability to insure all trim fits flush and aligns with HVAC equipment. Basic plumbing knowledge for water connections and drainage in AC installations Mechanical knowledge spanning plumbing, appliance repair, boiler operation, welding, and general equipment repair Experience working with air conditioning systems, property maintenance tasks, and mechanical troubleshooting Ability to accurately measure and cut trim pieces, brackets and grills Knowledge of basic thermostat and smart thermostat calibration, installation and programming Ability to read technical diagrams and use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems Attention to detail and ability to match trim to surrounding surfaces for a professional finish. Familiarity with safety standards related to ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R environments Installation accuracy and ability to ensuring trim fits flush and aligns with HVAC equipment.
