HVAC Chiller Service Technician - D2 or S2

$35.00-$55.00 per hour
Job Type:
Full-Time We are seeking an experienced HVAC Chiller Service Technician to join our team in Trumbull, CT. The ideal candidate will have a valid Connecticut D2 or S2 license and experience servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC equipment, including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers and boilers. This position is ideal for a skilled HVAC professional who is comfortable working with complex commercial mechanical systems and providing high-quality service to customers. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems. Diagnose and repair air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. Service compressors, purge units, cooling towers, pumps, motors, valves, boilers, and large unitary equipment. Perform major chiller and boiler repairs and equipment retrofits. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related issues. Maintain accurate equipment service records, refrigeration logs, and operating logs. Recover and handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations and Section 608 requirements. Replace system components, gaskets, seals, bearings, and other parts as required. Perform boiler inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with applicable Connecticut codes and regulations. Follow all federal, state, and local safety regulations. Maintain all required licenses and certifications. Attend required safety training and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and clients. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Be available for overtime, emergency service, and occasional weekend work as business needs require. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Connecticut D2 or S2 license required. Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience . Commercial chiller service and repair experience required. EPA Section 608 certification required. Experience with both air-cooled and water-cooled chillers preferred. Boiler and steam system experience is a plus. Strong mechanical and refrigeration troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC systems. Must have a clean driving record. Valid driver's license required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work safely in commercial and mechanical environments. Physical Requirements The employee must regularly be able to walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position requires the ability to climb ladders and stairways and work in a variety of commercial mechanical environments. The employee must be able to lift and/or move: 0-50 lbs. frequently 51-100 lbs. occasionally 101+ lbs. seldom The position requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance and properly use all required personal protective equipment.
