HVAC Program Lab Assistant:

Assist faculty in setting up laboratory systems, equipment and trainers for student hands-on assignments Monitor students during lab sessions, ensuring adherence to proper safety protocols and industry standards Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to students during laboratory exercises Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on laboratory systems, equipment, and testing instruments Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and consumables; ensure materials are available for each lab session Assist in equipment setup, breakdown, and storage following lab exercises Identify safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and coordinate repairs as needed Communicate with department coordinator regarding equipment status, safety concerns, and student progress Participate in program meetings, workshops, and recruitment events as assigned Requirements of an

HVAC Program Lab Assistant:

High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with HVAC systems, equipment, and components EPA certification for refrigerant handling Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical HVAC systems Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) Strong communication skills and ability to work with students Preferred Qualifications HVAC technical certification or associate degree in HVAC/Refrigeration B or D license Experience with HVAC Systems Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience Physical Requirements - ( If needed to maintain lab and equipment) Ability to lift to 50 lbs. regularly Continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling
