Job Description
Custom Air & Plumbing is seeking an HVAC Rough-In Technician for residential new construction projects in Sarasota, FL. In this role you'll install ductwork, refrigerant lines, drains, and venting according to blueprints and building codes, ensuring clean, efficient, and reliable systems. You'll work on active construction sites, coordinate with builders and other trades, and follow strict safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on field position with a stable, customer-focused contractor that offers ongoing training and paths to grow into lead and specialty roles. Responsibilities Install HVAC rough-in components for residential new construction projects per plans and specs Measure, fabricate and install ductwork, refrigerant lines, drains and venting Verify system layouts for airflow, clearances and code compliance Follow company and OSHA safety procedures on active jobsites Collaborate with lead technicians, builders and other trades to meet schedule Inspect completed rough-in work for quality, leaks and proper support Maintain tools, materials, and a clean, organized work area Document work performed and communicate job status to supervisors Required Skills HVAC rough-in installation Reading blueprints and plans Ductwork layout and installation Installing refrigerant lines Installing condensate and vent piping Brazing and basic welding Use of hand and power tools Jobsite safety and OSHA awareness Quality control inspections Basic troubleshooting
