We're looking for a Commercial HVAC Technician II who is ready to take the next step — someone with solid field experience who can troubleshoot, support retrofit work, and grow into a lead role. What You'll Do Service & Troubleshooting Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, split systems, and basic VAV applications Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and basic startups Support system testing and assist with commissioning activities Retrofit & Small Projects Assist with equipment change-outs and system upgrades Support work from demo → install → startup Perform duct modifications and tenant improvement (TI) work Read and interpret basic drawings, wiring diagrams, and scope documents Communicate field issues and support identification of change orders Team & Field Support Work alongside and support Tech IIIs and Foremen on job sites Begin developing leadership skills by mentoring Tech I technicians Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity Customer Interaction Represent the company professionally on job sites Communicate findings and recommendations to customers and internal teams Identify potential repair or upgrade opportunities in the field What You Bring Experience 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience Experience in service work and/or retrofit/construction environments Exposure to equipment change-outs and system installs preferred Technical Skills Working knowledge of: RTUs, split systems, and basic controls Electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting Ability to read: Blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications (basic to intermediate) Certifications & Licenses EPA Universal Certification (Required) Valid Driver's License with acceptable MVR (Required) OSHA 10 (Preferred) BAS/Controls exposure is a plus Tools & Technology Experience with: Mobile field service / work order systems Procore (preferred) Exposure to BAS platforms such as: Johnson Controls Siemens Honeywell Familiarity with manufacturer equipment: Trane, Carrier, Daikin Why Join Addison Smith?
