Job Description

Traveling Quality Inspector We're hiring a Traveling Quality Inspector to support large-scale mechanical projects across multiple locations. This role is highly visible on job sites and fabrication shops, ensuring work is built to specification and delivered to the highest standards. What to
Expect Travel:
Project-based travel with extended time on site; home every 3-4 weeks for several days.
Schedule:
6 days per week, 10-hour shifts while on site.
Workload:
Hands-on inspections, documentation, and coordination across multiple stakeholders. What You'll Do Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance. Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC plans. Lead coordination efforts including pre-installation meetings and weekly quality updates. Perform field inspections and testing (welds, bolts, pressure tests), oversee third-party evaluations, and follow up on corrective actions. Keep inspection records, certifications, and reports organized and accurate. Verify qualifications of vendors and installers, coordinate sampling/testing schedules, and support project closeout. What You Bring 3+ years of quality or inspection experience in mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal). Ability to travel and commit to project-based assignments. Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform visual inspections. Familiarity with welding, brazing, fusing, testing, and examination. Weld inspection certification (CWI, VT-Level II, API, etc.) preferred. Strong communication skills with ability to lead meetings, interface with subcontractors, and provide clear reporting.
