: HVAC Service Technician

Macon GA

Peak is seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician in the Macon GA area. This is a contract to permanent hire position with a local, established Mechanical Contractor. If you have some commercial experience and are willing to learn and train to advance your career then this is a great opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems.

Service split systems, package units, heat pumps, gas furnaces, rooftop units, and other HVAC equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance and routine HVAC inspections.

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, refrigerant, and control-related issues.

Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, and system testing in accordance with applicable regulations.

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.

Identify necessary repairs and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.

Complete service tickets and accurately document work performed, materials used, and recommended follow-up repairs.

Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, maintenance personnel, general contractors, and commercial customers.

Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.

Follow all company safety procedures and applicable codes and regulations.

Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency service as required.

Assist other technicians and team members when needed.

Qualifications

Previous HVAC service experience in residential and/or commercial systems required.

Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, refrigerant systems, and airflow diagnostics.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Must be dependable, professional, and able to work as part of a team.

Ability to safely lift and carry HVAC equipment, tools, and materials and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments.

Willingness to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation when necessary.

Preferred Experience

Commercial rooftop units and package systems.

Residential split systems and heat pumps.

Preventative maintenance programs.

Refrigerant troubleshooting and leak detection.

Electrical and low-voltage controls.

Commercial HVAC service and troubleshooting.

VRF/VRV systems experience is a plus.
