In this role, you will diagnose, service, repair, and maintain residential heating and air conditioning systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will serve as a senior-level technician in the field, helping customers make informed repair and replacement decisions while ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is ideal for an experienced residential technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in quality workmanship and professionalism. Pay is based on experience plus commission Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot residential HVAC system issues including electrical, refrigerant, airflow, controls, and mechanical failures. Perform maintenance, service, and repair of residential heating and cooling equipment including split systems, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, mini-splits, package units, and indoor air quality products. Conduct routine maintenance inspections and identify potential issues before equipment failure occurs. Communicate repair recommendations and system concerns clearly and professionally with homeowners. Perform start-ups, testing, and system performance verification to ensure proper operation and efficiency. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to accurately complete repairs. Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, gauges, combustion analyzers, and leak detectors. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation for all calls completed. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked company vehicle. Follow all company safety procedures, EPA regulations, and local building codes. Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians as needed. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls when required. Requirements Minimum 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred. Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, electrical troubleshooting, refrigeration cycles, airflow diagnostics, and controls. EPA Certification required; additional HVAC certifications are a plus. Ability to diagnose and repair systems efficiently with minimal supervision. Experience with heat pumps, gas furnaces, dual fuel systems, mini-splits, and standard residential comfort systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong customer service and communication skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work independently, manage multiple calls, and prioritize tasks effectively. Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented. Ability to lift equipment and materials, work in attics/crawlspaces, climb ladders, and perform physical job duties in varying weather conditions.
