Job Title:
HVAC Controls Service Technician Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with HVAC controls or Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC). Working knowledge of Niagara Tridium, Johnson Controls, or Distech control systems. Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies, including how mechanical and electrical components interact. Familiarity with low-voltage wiring, sensors, actuators, and controllers used in building automation. Ability to perform effective troubleshooting on HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems. Experience with software troubleshooting related to BAS or control platforms. Capability to read and interpret control diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical documentation. Dependable work habits and the ability to work safely and independently in the field. Job Description This position seeks a motivated and dependable HVAC Controls Service Technician with at least 2 years of hands-on experience who is ready to grow into advanced roles in building automation, energy management, and smart facility systems. The role focuses on servicing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC) for a variety of facilities in the West Michigan area, while working closely with a highly experienced team that supports long-term career development. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
