HVAC Service Technician - Mount Clemens, MI $30.00-45.00 Per Hour Competitive Company Benefits Local Projects Job Description We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable HVAC/R Service Technician to add to our growing team. This technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role works with a variety of refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical components to ensure reliable operation and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform 3-6 HVAC and refrigeration service calls per day at commercial locations. Communicate professionally with customers to understand their concerns, explain findings, and discuss recommended repairs. Diagnose issues with HVAC systems, including rooftop units up to 25 tons, air handlers, make-up air units, exhaust systems, compressors, and related equipment. Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems, including fractional horsepower refrigeration equipment, using appropriate tools and techniques. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs. Perform electrical testing and diagnostics on HVAC and refrigeration systems to identify faults and verify proper operation. Handle and work with refrigerants and refrigeration systems in a safe and compliant manner. Document all work performed using electronic dispatch tools, including entering service details and uploading photos of repairs. Drive to and from job sites safely while maintaining a valid and clean driving record. Use personal tools and equipment to complete service and repair tasks efficiently and safely. Participate in on-call rotations, including weekend work, and respond to service calls as dispatched. Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous, customer-focused service at all times. Essential Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of HVAC service experience, including troubleshooting, performing corrective repairs, and communicating repair details to customers. Experience within commercial and light industrial applications. Hands-on experience servicing rooftop units (RTUs) up to 25 tons, air handlers, make-up air units, exhaust systems, and compressors. Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems, including mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams. Experience working with refrigeration systems, including fractional horsepower refrigeration equipment. Proficiency in electrical testing and diagnostics for HVAC and refrigeration systems. Valid and clean driving record suitable for operating a company vehicle. Why Work Here? The position requires regular use of mechanical and electrical tools, as well as personal HVAC service tools. Hours include standard service days with the possibility of on-call and weekend work. A professional appearance is expected while working in customer-facing environments and representing the company on-site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Clemens, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
