Based in Davenport, Iowa, we provide plumbing, HVAC, pipe fabrication, automation and controls, BIM, and engineering services. Our team provides 24/7 HVAC service support to customers throughout Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island, and surrounding communities. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our growing service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and optimizing commercial HVAC equipment and controls for a diverse customer base. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical skills, a commitment to customer service, and experience working on commercial HVAC systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and related controls. Service rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, air handling units, exhaust systems, and associated equipment. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and recommend corrective actions. Identify mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-related issues and implement effective solutions. Replace and repair HVAC components including motors, compressors, contactors, sensors, valves, belts, bearings, and controls. Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options clearly with customers. Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. Coordinate with dispatchers, project managers, and fellow technicians to prioritize service calls and customer needs. Participate in after-hours emergency service and on-call rotation as required. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a professional manner. Required Qualifications Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on commercial HVAC systems. Experience performing maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment. Current EPA Universal Certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls effectively. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical job duties in varying weather conditions. Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience servicing commercial HVAC systems in a commercial or industrial environment. Active Iowa Mechanical License and/or Iowa HVAC/Refrigeration License. Building Trades Journeyman HVCAR status Completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program or technical training program. Experience working in a union environment. Knowledge of HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), and DDC controls. Experience servicing boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and large-tonnage commercial equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
