HVAC Journeyman Installer / Experienced HVAC Apprentice Big Mountain Heating and Air - 4.1 Garden City, ID Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $38 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Professional development assistance Opportunities for advancement Life insurance Qualifications Outdoor work experience Assembly Driver's License Power tools Journeyman HVAC Hand tools Full Job Description Job Summary Big Mountain Air is currently seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman Installer and experienced HVAC Apprentice/Installer to join our new construction installation crew. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with residential and/or commercial HVAC installation and is comfortable working in a construction environment. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in duct installation, equipment setting, gas piping, line sets, rough-in, and HVAC finish work . A current Idaho Journeyman HVAC license is required for the Journeyman position . This is an installation position—not a residential service technician position. What You'll Do
- Install HVAC systems in new residential and commercial construction projects.
- Perform HVAC rough-in and installation according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Install sheet metal and ductwork, including supply and return air systems.
- Set furnaces, air conditioning equipment, heat pumps, and other HVAC equipment.
- Install refrigerant line sets and associated components.
- Install gas piping and combustion-related components as required.
- Install thermostats, vents, registers, grilles, and other HVAC finish components.
- Seal and insulate ductwork as required.
- Assist with equipment startup and verify installations are completed correctly.
- Read and follow construction plans, HVAC layouts, and installation specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install HVAC materials accurately.
- Safely operate hand and power tools used in HVAC installation.
- Move and handle HVAC materials and equipment on the jobsite.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project.
- Arrive on time and participate in daily job planning and safety discussions.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with installers, foremen, project managers, and other trades.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
- Help train and mentor less-experienced team members when appropriate.
- Perform other installation-related duties as assigned. What We're Looking ForHVAC Journeyman Installer
- Current Idaho Journeyman HVAC license is required .
- Strong hands-on experience installing HVAC systems.
- Experience with new construction HVAC installation preferred.
- Experience with residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of ductwork installation, equipment setting, line sets, gas piping, and HVAC rough-in and finish work.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC plans and construction drawings.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work.
- Strong understanding of proper installation procedures and jobsite safety.
- Ability to lead by example and assist in developing less-experienced installers.
- Reliable transportation.
- Dependable, punctual, hardworking, and team-oriented. Experienced HVAC Apprentice / Installer
- Previous HVAC installation experience required.
- Experience with ductwork, HVAC equipment, line sets, vents, registers, or rough-in work is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to learn from experienced Journeyman installers.
- Current Idaho HVAC Apprentice license preferred or ability to obtain one.
- Willingness to attend required apprenticeship classes.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and safely perform assigned work.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to work in a physically demanding construction environment.
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
- Work overhead and on ladders.
- Work in attics, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and other confined or cramped areas.
- Use hands and fingers to handle tools, equipment, ductwork, and materials.
- Work safely in varying weather and construction-site conditions.
Schedule Monday-Friday Typical start time:
6:45-7:00 AM- Full-time
- Approximately 40 hours per week
