Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems and related equipment across our multifamily properties. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The technician will ensure that all HVAC and property maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration units Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems and property maintenance needs Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment Repair or replace HVAC components, including compressors, fans, thermostats, and control systems Assist with equipment repair involving welding, boiler maintenance, and appliance repair as needed Read and interpret HVAC design plans and schematics for installation or repair projects Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs performed Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment during all tasks Support field service operations by traveling to various locations to perform maintenance tasks efficiently Experience Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related mechanical fields Construction or property maintenance experience is highly desirable Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics, and system troubleshooting techniques Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration is a plus Mechanical knowledge related to appliances, plumbing, welding, and boiler systems Familiarity with HVAC/R systems and equipment repair procedures Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively Prior experience working in field service environments preferred This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to apply their technical skills in a dynamic setting while ensuring the optimal operation of essential building systems.
