Harrah's is seeking a skilled technician to maintain and repair commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and food service equipment across our property. This position offers a variety of challenges, opportunities for growth, and the satisfaction of ensuring our guests and team members enjoy a safe and comfortable environment every day. Essential Functions Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in refrigeration units, ice machines, beverage systems, and commercial kitchen equipment. Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including rooftop units, air handlers, exhaust systems, make-up air units, and associated controls. Monitor and troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, thermostats, and refrigeration controls. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Apply operational procedures in accordance with state, local, and company regulations. Ensure compliance with refrigerant handling requirements and environmental regulations. Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment. Assist all other trades within the Facilities Department as operational needs require. Knowledge and proper use of hot work permits and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Maintain inventory of parts and materials necessary for repairs and preventative maintenance. Keep all equipment rooms, mechanical spaces, tools, and assigned work areas clean and organized. Respond promptly to emergency and critical situations affecting operations. Abide by all safety policies and report hazards to the Supervisor or Department Manager. Engage collaboratively with all departments in a professional and courteous manner. Be a participative member of the team by volunteering and contributing ideas that improve operations and efficiency. Provide fast, friendly, and flawless service to every guest and team member. Adhere to all regulatory, company, and departmental policies and procedures. Perform duties as assigned while always presenting oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encouraging others to do the same. Requirements Minimum five (5) years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. High School Diploma or equivalent required. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred. Experience maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, food service equipment, refrigeration systems, and HVAC equipment preferred. Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, condensers, evaporators, HVAC controls, and preventative maintenance practices. Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, relays, contactors, sensors, and control circuits. Experience utilizing CMMS or work order management systems such as Maximo. Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, multimeters, temperature probes, pressure gauges, and other diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general building systems preferred. Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Position requires approximately 20% standing and 80% walking. Requires frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, and reaching overhead. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, climb ladders, and operate man-lift equipment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, auditory, and visual cues. May be exposed to varying temperatures, mechanical equipment, and refrigeration systems.
