Job Description

Summary Superior Fresh is an industry-leading land based Atlantic salmon producer. Our state-of-the-art, aquaculture practices land-based recirculation aquaculture system is the first in the United States to raise Atlantic salmon. At Superior Fresh, we produce the freshest, healthiest food available year-round, while maintaining the highest sustainability standards. This Maintenance Technician role specializing in HVAC will have an emphasis for performing highly diversified duties within our aquaculture facility. This will include equipment installation, mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance tasks and facilities upkeep. This role will perform their duties with high levels of safety while supporting the company's business goals and objectives. Primary Job Functions This section describes the primary /essential responsibilities that this job performs. Install, maintain, and repair industrial heating and cooling systems, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC units, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using advanced testing tools, implementing efficient solutions to improve system reliability and energy efficiency. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance, adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements to extend equipment lifespan and support continuous operations. Ensure proper operations, maintenance and repair of filtering and aquaculture system and facility equipment. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Create and maintain aquaculture systems documentation. Read, interpret and follow work instructions, SOPs, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble, repair and maintain equipment. Use electrical and electronic test instruments as well as a full range of precision measuring tools to perform equipment repairs. Provide emergency/non-scheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Sets up and operates a variety of shop equipment including drill press, grinders, welders, mills, lathes and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts. Perform general maintenance including, but not limited to mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery. Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment and assigned facility assets. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties. This will include operation of heavy material handling equipment such as forklift, scissor lift, skid steer and telehandler. Follow all company designated record keeping activities. Comply with worker safety, biosecurity and food safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Demonstrate the Company's Core Values in the performance of all job functions. Experience:
5+ years commercial HVAC experience Licenses or certifications : Driver's license required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of wiring, circuits, voltage, and controls to safely diagnose and repair electrical components in HVAC equipment. Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics. Familiarity with the refrigeration cycle, refrigerants, pressure-temperature relationships, and proper handling (including EPA certification requirements). Excellent oral and written communication skills Encourage the building of mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members. Attend onsite and distant training seminars and classes to bring new ideas and practices to Superior Fresh. Plan and coordinate projects within confines of production, defined budgets, and deadlines. Effective time management and organizational skills. Work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Maintain confidentiality. Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints. Set priorities and to work with minimal direction and supervision Display empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquires Schedule Expectations 1. On-call with other employees to respond to system alarms and emergencies. 2. Will include occasional weekends and holidays. 3. Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
