- Job Summary
- The position of an HVAC Installer & Service Technician is to deliver exceptional HVAC installation, service, and maintenance to the customer (residential or commercial/industrial) by completing and installing HVAC equipment, HVAC accessories, start ups on equipment, servicing all brands of HVAC equipment and accessories, and training with customers.
- Job Responsibilities
- Install HVAC related equipment and accessories in accordance to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Install gas lines, flue pipes, and wiring for both high and low voltage wiring applications as well as run flue liners.
- Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
- Design, fabricate and install various ducts and duct fittings as necessary.
- Properly connect gas lines to heating equipment.
- Perform start-ups on heating, cooling systems and other components.
- Perform limited diagnostics, as necessary.
- Train, coach and mentor apprentices.
- Braze copper joints without leaks.
- Pull vacuums on refrigerant systems and test for tightness.
- Install and program all versions of thermostats.
- Install, wire and plumb all IAQ products.
- Set an air conditioner, heat pump, furnace or air handler
- Ensure all installations are completed according to industry standards and local codes.
- Follow up with customer within 2 days of installation, for satisfaction
- Perform a thorough and accurate HVAC inspection including Health and Safety Checklist and communicate findings to the customer in a written option sheet.
- Perform all HVAC repairs and replacements to applicable codes.
- Complete all required documentation on services and collect, record and deliver fees to designated office administration.
- Facilitate order for all parts required for appointments and ensure preparedness for the day of service.
- Submit purchase orders to dispatch or other designated purchasing team administrators.
- Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools
- Perform a complete comfort survey and home analysis on every home.
- Responsible for all paperwork financing, rebate, tax credit as well as ensuring collection of payment
- Perform calculations necessary for invoicing and financing
- Responsible for taking pictures of all existing work
- Make a complete and accurate list of all equipment and material needed to complete an installation
- Order all equipment and materials needed to complete installation, and assure they arrive in a timely manner
- If temporary heating or cooling is required, it is the responsibility of the HVAC Service Technician to deliver and pick up equipment
- Thoroughly communicate and explain all guarantees and warranties to the customer
- Communicate sum and details of job to the other team members, in field and office
- Collaborate with all Beeson team members, to schedule and complete projects efficiently.

- Requirements

- High School diploma or GED required.
- EPA Certified required.
- Nate Certification preferred.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable work experience in HVAC installation and/or HVAC Service and/or HVAC Maintenance.
- Must be able to use a computer tablet, smart phone and read a map or follow GPS
- Valid driver's license, and approved by Beeson's insurance carrier.
- Must be willing and able to acquire a DOT physical card (company will set up, after hire)
- Must be willing and able to pass a drug test (NO drug usage), including ALL illegal substances (remember, marijuana is illegal) as well as prescriptions that impair driving.
- Must be willing to work a committed schedule of Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.
- Must be willing to work a rotating on call schedule (1 week at a time, Friday through Thursday)
- Must be willing to be cross-trained in all areas of all trades, within Beeson Mechanical Service (residential, commercial/industrial, HVAC, electrical, etc.)
