Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Follows established procedures and practices to produce quality products for the company's customers and uphold the values of the company Responsible for rebuilding furnaces and the maintenance required to keep the furnaces operating in a safe and efficient manner Implements any changes or trials regarding aspects of the furnace rebuilds and works with plant management or outside sources to record information about furnace performance trends Works with the machine shop and engineering on research for improving graphite parts efficiency Completes all forms, charts, run sheets, or other operating documents required Assists in installing, removing, and maintaining equipment and buildings Completes routine housekeeping tasks in the production area as well as assisting in general plant clean up during down time May handle raw material or product manually under break down conditions Complies with company policies and the Standards of Business Conduct Adheres to general and job specific safety, environmental, and quality guidelines/procedures Performs other duties as assigned Education/Experience -

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

High school diploma or GED required Pre-requisite is at least six months work experience in another Site 20 job classification. If no one meets the criteria, then someone with less experience will be considered. Ability to communicate effectively Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manual Reasoning skills to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Ability to safely work in a high temperature non-production line setting in a multi-level building and at times confined spaces Ability to work independently or in a team setting Ability to work a rotating shift schedule as assigned including nights and weekends including flexibility to provide job coverage for co-workers in addition to regular schedule

Work Environment:

This individual works in a multi-level industrial environment requiring work in high precarious places via ladders and steps inside and outside the plant in all types of weather conditions. This individual can be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and some hazardous chemicals. The plant utilizes high levels of electricity and individuals have to be safety minded in all activities. The work environment is dusty.
