Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal climate control, energy efficiency, and system reliability. Duties Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems. Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) equipment. Read schematics and technical diagrams to accurately perform system repairs or installations. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and extend lifespan. Conduct building automation system (BAS) adjustments and calibrations to optimize climate control performance. Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues in mechanical systems repair and equipment troubleshooting. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs or installations performed. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety standards. Assist with plumbing and electrical diagnostics as needed for comprehensive HVAC system maintenance. Drive company vehicle safely between job sites while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC system installation or repair. Service technician experience working with HVAC/R systems including refrigeration, air conditioning, boilers, and mechanical systems. Strong understanding of schematics, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and building automation systems. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC system repair, maintenance procedures, and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately for installation or repair purposes. Experience with HVAC design principles is a plus; familiarity with ammonia refrigeration is advantageous. Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment. Customer service skills to effectively communicate technical information to clients in a clear manner. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; relevant licenses or certifications required by local authorities. Mechanical or mechanic experience preferred; familiarity with electrical systems is essential for diagnosing complex issues. Ability to work independently in the field as well as part of a team; valid van driver's license required for transportation between sites.
