Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Light Commercial/Residential HVAC/R Service Technician to join our energetic team! In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in both commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will ensure our clients experience optimal comfort and system efficiency. Responsibilities Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) and refrigeration equipment across commercial and residential properties. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues. Conduct system inspections using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical or mechanical faults. Repair or replace components including compressors, motors, valves, thermostats, piping (plumbing), and other mechanical parts to restore system functionality. Utilize welding skills when necessary for equipment repair or custom fabrication projects. Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all service activities while providing excellent customer service. Skills Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC/R systems. Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation and property maintenance. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC design documents accurately. Mechanical knowledge encompassing refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and boiler operation. Skilled in plumbing work related to HVAC systems as well as appliance repair when needed. Experience with field service operations involving air conditioning units and equipment repair. Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; ability to troubleshoot electrical components effectively. Proficiency in welding techniques for equipment fabrication or repairs. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred. Knowledge of HVAC/R safety standards and procedures; ability to work with refrigerants safely. Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals; understanding of HVAC design principles is a plus. Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
