$16 Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and motivated HVAC Helper to assist HVAC Technicians with the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of residential and/or commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on HVAC experience and develop their skills in the skilled trades. The HVAC Helper will work under the direction of experienced technicians and will be responsible for assisting with tools, materials, equipment, installations, basic troubleshooting, job-site preparation, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist HVAC Technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. Help install ductwork, vents, thermostats, condensers, air handlers, furnaces, and related equipment. Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and materials. Assist with running and securing electrical wiring, refrigerant lines, drain lines, and ductwork. Perform basic hand-tool and power-tool operations. Assist technicians with equipment removal and replacement. Help prepare job sites before work begins and clean work areas upon completion. Follow instructions from lead technicians and supervisors. Assist with basic measurements, cutting, fastening, and assembly. Identify and report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or potential problems to the technician. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in an organized condition. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements. Provide professional and courteous service when working around customers. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications Previous HVAC, construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or maintenance experience preferred but not required. Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Ability to work outdoors and in hot, cold, dusty, or confined environments. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment. Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated positions. Valid driver's license may be required. HVAC schooling or EPA certification is a plus but not required for an entry-level helper position. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Ability to work in varying weather and job-site conditions. Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
