Job Description
Commercial HVAC Installation Technician Kenner, LA | Greater New Orleans and Northshore $106K - $123K Per Year | 100% Paid Medical Insurance | 401K Matching | Take Home Vehicle We are hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Installation Technician to complete and lead equipment replacements and installations throughout Greater New Orleans and the Northshore. This position is designed for an experienced commercial installer who genuinely prefers installation work and wants an opportunity to take greater ownership of projects. The right person will have the potential to help expand our installation operation and eventually lead that side of the department. We are a locally operated commercial mechanical contractor with approximately 36 employees and 30 years of experience in the New Orleans market. Our projects include hospitals, healthcare facilities, government buildings, offices, and other commercial and institutional properties. Compensation and Benefits $106K - $123K per year , based on commercial experience and ability 40+ hours per week Time-and-a-half outside regular weekday hours Double time on Sundays 100% company-paid employee health insurance Company vehicle and fuel card Dispatch directly from home 401(k) with 2% company match Two weeks of vacation available upon hire 10+ paid holidays Major and necessary tools provided Company-paid certification renewals What You'll Do Execute or lead commercial HVAC equipment replacements and installations. Install commercial rooftop units, air-handling equipment, chilled-water equipment, pumps, ventilation systems, and related components. Read plans, specifications, schematics, and installation requirements. Plan labor, materials, tools, equipment access, rigging, and shutdown requirements. Set and connect commercial HVAC equipment and associated piping, ductwork, electrical, and control components within your trade scope. Coordinate with our service and mechanical-construction teams on larger projects. Support equipment start-up, functional testing, troubleshooting, and project turnover. Complete installations safely, cleanly, and professionally in occupied commercial and healthcare facilities. Direct helpers or other field personnel when required. Report directly to assigned project sites throughout Greater New Orleans and the Northshore. What We're Looking For 7 - 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience Substantial commercial HVAC installation and equipment-replacement experience Ability to complete commercial installations independently or lead a small crew EPA Universal certification required Ability to read plans, specifications, schematics, and equipment documentation Experience coordinating equipment setting, rigging, materials, access, and shutdowns Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in occupied customer facilities A genuine preference for commercial installation work A mixed commercial service and installation background is welcome, but this position is primarily focused on installation. Hospital experience is preferred but not required. Experience with infection-control procedures, critical shutdowns, airflow requirements, and occupied-building coordination is valuable. Schedule and Work Area Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Direct reporting to assigned project sites Most work is within approximately 30 minutes of New Orleans and generally within one hour Projects throughout Greater New Orleans and the Northshore Advancement Opportunity We have enough installation work to expand this function. An installer who can plan projects, lead others, and take ownership of the work could eventually build and run a dedicated installation department.
