About the
Role:
The HVAC Punchout Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the successful completion and operational readiness of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at various residential project sites. This position focuses on the final inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC installations to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards. The mechanic will identify and resolve any deficiencies or issues before project handover, ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely. Collaboration with foremen, and other trades is essential to coordinate punchout activities and maintain project timelines. Ultimately, this role guarantees that HVAC systems meet all regulatory requirements and client expectations, contributing to the overall success of construction and maintenance projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of vocational school and/or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum of 2 or 3 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation and repairs Use all types of HVAC tools Identifying problems in non-working systems & duct work and accurately detect and repair the problem.
Preferred Qualifications:
EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants. Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls. Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA standards. Previous experience specifically in punchout or commissioning roles. Additional certifications such as NATE (North American Technician Excellence) are advantageous.

Communication skills facilitate clear reporting of punchlist items and collaboration with the team to resolve outstanding work.
