MasTec is seeking a skilledHVAC/Telecom Technicianto join our team. The technician is responsible for performing field service maintenance, remedial, and emergency repair on telecommunication and data centers, relating to HVAC equipment. ResponsibilitiesMaintaining commercial cooling systems on cell tower cooling units - diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing and replacing components of entire systemsPerforming additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipmentAbility to demonstrate competency with installation and diagnostics to ensure the completion of services at a professional levelReplace or install forced air heating and air conditioning systemsReplace or install complete hydronic heating systems or refrigeration equipmentInstall or replace duct systems in telecommunication sheltersTest electrical circuits and components for continuity, using electrical test equipmentTest pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solutionLayout and connect the electrical wiring between the controls and equipment according to the wiring diagramTroubleshoot low-voltage control systemsUnderstanding of underground gas monitoring systems (AKA, Sierra 2400, Sierra 2450, Quest control systems)Complete all necessary safety and technical trainingMaintain safe work practices
Mid-level (4-5 years of experience) compensation of $26-$29 per hour, depending on the experience + a company vehicle.
Experienced-level (6+ years of experience) compensation of $30+ per hour, depending on the experience + a company vehicle.

QualificationsAbout You:
Prior experience with underground CEV (Controlled Environment Vault) (Preferred)Able to read and understand electrical ladder schematicsBasic plumbing knowledge of sump pumpsPossess strong knowledge of pumps, dry coolers, and cooling towersMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordKnowledge of HVAC codes and their proper applicationMust be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by emailMust have the ability to be on call and travel extensively for work when needed is highly preferredExtensive daily travel with an independent work structureAble to work solo for long periods of time and with a project teamUniversal refrigerant card (includes 410a) EPA 608, types 1, 2, and 3PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft and internet productsService Max ApplicationUnderstanding of telecommunications and data processing operationsCompliance withFCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA
regulationsAbility to read and understand general job-related documentsPrevious construction and/or construction industry experience (Preferred)You can travel M-F, and on the weekends as neededEntry-level (6 months to 3 years of experience) compensation of $18-$25 per hour, depending on the experience + a company vehicle.Mid-level (4-5 years of experience) compensation of $26-$29 per hour, depending on the experience + a company vehicle.
