Job Description

Responsibilities of this job: (A) Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. (B) Must be able to clearly communicate with warranty manufacturers and/or their technical support teams. (C) Must be able to clearly communicate with the customers and/or their support teams of issues found along with the corrective actions required. (D) Complete paperwork daily for each customer serviced that day including collecting service fees due at the end of each job if needed. (E) Work independently on each service call while providing the customers the best service experience. (F) Inform office of any follow-ups and/or parts needed to solve the customers service request at any given time. Inform the office of all completed jobs. (G) Document all work via pictures, paperwork and provide detailed work performed on service tickets. (H) Must have personal hand tools including meter, gauges and basic hand tools. Company will provide torches, recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, stocked service truck. (I) Valid Drivers license with a good driving record along with a safety driving courses taken. (J) Must be willing to attend or seek training to keep up to date with all the latest codes, manufacturers requirements and/or new technologies to meet government requirements. (K) Must be able to gain access to State, TSA and Federal sites and/or have the ability to obtain clearance. (L) Must be able to work in Hospital settings be able to obtain clearance to obtain a badge. Includes the requirement of an annual flu shot. (M) Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening and background checks. (N) Must not be afraid of heights and safely use an extension/step ladder when needed in the proper manner.
Education:
(A) Must hold and PROVIDE with your resume a valid State of Maryland HVACR Journeyman License or higher - Will need to be able to get A.A. County, Harford County, D.C. and Washington County License. Note • Will look at 4 th. year apprentice who is able to sit for and/or take Journeyman test. A resume without a valid copy of HVACR License attached will get rejected if it can not be validated via DLLR website. (B) Must hold and PROVIDE with resume an EPA CFC Certified License - Universal Preferred. A copy must be attached to resume. (C) Must have a minimum of 4-5 years service/installation/field experience. We will looked at less experience personnel on a case by case basis, but must hold Journeyman License or above. (D) High School Graduation with a diploma (E) 4 Years of an approved HVACR apprenticeship program such as ACCA and/or college HVACR program. (F) Approved HVACR Trade School graduation certificate and/or Military HVACR training.
Skills:
(A) Must be able to work with Hydro Carbon refrigeration equipment and have certification from approve training agency. This is R-290, R-600A, R-1270, R-50 and R-600 these are all Class A3 refrigerants. (B) Must be able to work with Class A2-A2L refrigeration equipment and have certification from approve training agency. This is R-32 and R-152A. (C) Must understand Cascade and Ultra Low Temperature refrigeration systems or be willing to get training on such equipment. This equipment uses R-503, R-13, R-23 and R-508B know as super high pressure refrigerants. Specialized dedicated recovery equipment is used for this ultra high pressure refrigerant. (D) Must be able to read wiring diagrams/schematics and have excellent electrical trouble shooting skills. (E) Must be able to understand refrigeration cycle along with how it works within the system. Will need to follow best refrigeration practices. (F) Must be able to keep a clean and safe work site within the customers site. (G) Must follow all warranty manufacturers repair guidelines and communicate clearly with their technical support teams about corrective actions taken to get the customer equipment back in service. (H) Must be able to keep a clean, stocked and neat service vehicle at all times. (I) Must be able to do service and installation of refrigeration/HVAC equipment per all State Codes and/or manufacturers requirements in a professional manner. (J) Must be able to follow all safe refrigerant handling practices including proper record keeping of refrigerant used and/or recovered, along with letting customer know they have exceeded EPA guideline for new leak rates. (K) Must be able to properly braze and use proper equipment for specific job as well as purging nitrogen to stop oxidation within system. (L) Must be able to use vacuum pump with vacuum gauge to properly evacuate systems and/or diagnose a leak within the refrigeration system. Includes maintenance of vacuum pump. (M) Must be able to keep tools and/or all equipment in proper working order with normal wear/tear so as equipment is safe to use at all times. (N) Must be able to follow all requirements of hot work permits provided customers when using an open flame within their space. Includes following the buildings facilities protocols by not using a torch on-site without permission. (O) Must be able to follow all ladder safety protocols from step ladders, extension ladders to roof hatch access ladders. Ladders must be kept in safe working order at all times and be properly used, secured and/or setup before, during and after use.
Required work experience:
(A) Must have worked on ice machines, walk-in boxes, line chillers, self contained refrigeration equipment, rack systems, low temperature (Scientific Refrigeration) and/or test chambers. (B) Should be able to work on exhaust fans and HVAC equipment for specific customers needs. (C) Must be able to troubleshoot electrical issues, along with any refrigeration issues that may cause a customers unit to fail. (E) Must be able to provide proper maintenance for customer equipment including cleaning, gaskets, hinges and/or issues that will cause customer equipment to fail in the future. Must be able to communicate this to the customer clearly. (F) Must be able to find and indicate any and/or all refrigerant leaks within a customers unit. (G) Military HVACR education and/or service experience a plus but not needed. (H) Pay is based on experience and is intended as a maximum pay scale based on a 40 hour work week and does not include overtime pay.
