  • Seeking a skilled and knowledgeable HVAC Service Technician to add to our growing team in Ann Arbor.
This individual will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential and light commercial customers. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Install residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and thermostats.
+ Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels to ensure optimal system performance. + Conduct seasonal tune-ups to maximize system efficiency, reliability, and lifespan. + Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and system issues in residential HVAC equipment. + Interpret and work from blueprints and technical documentation to complete installations and service tasks accurately. + Communicate clearly with homeowners about system issues, repair options, and maintenance needs in a professional and respectful manner. + Provide informed recommendations for system upgrades or replacements based on equipment condition and customer needs. + Maintain professionalism on every job site and ensure a positive, service-oriented customer experience. + Operate a company vehicle safely, adhering to driving and safety standards while traveling between residential job sites. + Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every five weeks to respond to urgent service needs.
  • Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • + Minimum of 3 years of HVAC experience in residential and/or commercial service-oriented roles.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to install, service, and repair HVAC systems and components. + Proficient troubleshooting skills for diagnosing HVAC system issues. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. + Boiler service and repair experience is a plus. + EPA 608 or EPA Universal certification. + Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Work Environment
  • This role is primarily field-based as a residential service technician, with travel throughout the day to various homes.
You work as part of a team of approximately five technicians while handling most service calls independently at customer sites. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation about every five weeks to support urgent service needs. Work involves using standard HVAC tools and equipment, operating a company vehicle, and performing tasks in a variety of residential settings, both indoors and outdoors, in different weather conditions.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
