HVAC Service Technician 2.0 2.0 out of 5 stars Iron Mountain, MI 49801 Full-time Michigan Broadband Services 3 reviews Full-time Michigan Broadband Services, a leading provider of high-speed communications solutions, is seeking a HVAC Service Technician to support approximately 20 sites across the western Upper Peninsula. This role requires a self-directed professional who can manage multiple locations, respond to issues independently, and maintain reliable facility operations. The position involves significant daily travel between sites and participation in an every-other-week on-call rotation for after-hours support. This role reports to the Central Office Facilities Manager. Responsibilities Primarily hands-on HVAC maintenance; including cleaning condenser coils, changing air filters and belts, greasing bearings, and keeping systems operational and reliable Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs Diagnose and resolve facility-related issues efficiently Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and system performance Monitor facility performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning Collaborate with internal teams to support operational needs and space planning Additional Responsibilities Perform light electrical work (e.g., lighting, basic troubleshooting) Complete minor plumbing repairs Conduct routine fire system testing Perform building and roof inspections, including rough roof and facility condition checks Maintain overall facility condition and upkeep Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation preferred Experience with general facility maintenance, repair, and tools Ability to lift and move equipment and access confined spaces as needed Strong time management to manage repairs and logistics under tight deadlines 3-7 years of experience in facilities engineering or building operations Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems Experience with building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software Familiarity with safety regulations and codes (OSHA, NFPA, etc.) Proven problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to life equipment and work in confined spaces as needed Requirements EPA 608 Type II or Universal certification Minimum 2+ years HVAC experience Strong working knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and basic controls Ability to troubleshoot and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS) at a practical level Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between sites Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Life insurance Paid time off
