Position Overview Ellingson is seeking a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our Plymouth office. This position will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems for customers throughout the Twin Cities metro area. The ideal candidate is an experienced HVAC professional who is comfortable working independently, takes ownership of service calls from diagnosis through completion, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities As an HVAC Service Technician, you will: Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems and equipment. Perform planned and preventative maintenance according to customer agreements and manufacturer recommendations. Identify necessary repairs, replacement parts, and additional service needs. Clearly communicate findings, recommendations, progress, and concerns with customers. Complete warranty service and repairs on installed HVAC equipment. Ensure necessary materials, parts, and equipment are identified and ordered in a timely manner. Accurately complete service documentation and required paperwork. Provide guidance and support to apprentices and less-experienced team members when applicable. Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional manner. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at customer locations. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as required. Work collaboratively with the Plymouth team and other Ellingson departments to provide an exceptional customer experience. Qualifications Previous HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, materials, methods, and tools. Ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical HVAC issues. Understanding of applicable building codes, safety requirements, and industry standards. EPA Section 608 Certification preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage service calls efficiently and work independently in the field. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively with customers, coworkers, apprentices, and other trades. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to meet the physical requirements associated with HVAC service work.
